2026 Season Kickoff Update – March 2026

Touring Car Masters: Ryan Hansford’s Title Charge

The 2026 Touring Car Masters (TCM) season roared into life at Sydney Motorsport Park, marking Ryan Hansford’s 13th year with Multispares support. After a strong qualifying session that saw Ryan place the Torana 4th on the grid, the weekend took an unexpected turn. Due to track surface issues at Turn 8 on the Grand Prix circuit, officials moved all support categories to the shorter Druitt track layout. While this kept the racing going, the tighter loop didn’t favor the Multispares Torana, which excels in the high-speed, twisty sections of the full GP circuit.

Despite the disadvantage, Ryan fought hard through the field:

  • Qualifying: 4th
  • Overall Weekend Finish: 6th
  • Championship Standings: Ryan sits just 57 points behind current series leader Scott Cameron.

A Singular Focus for 2026

After joining Aaron Cameron for the team’s three-round GT4 cameo last year, Ryan has made the decision to focus exclusively on the Touring Car Masters Championship this season.

With a young family at home and a demanding schedule at work, Ryan recognized that the additional time away required for a dual- category program was a big ask.

Furthermore, the driving styles required for a high-tech GT4 Mustang versus a raw TCM Torana are worlds apart. By dedicating 100% of his energy to TCM, Ryan is putting everything into securing a second TCM Championship title.

GT4 Expansion: A Four-Driver Powerhouse

The garage is about to get a lot busier as we head to Phillip Island next weekend for the opening round of the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia series. Multispares Racing is thrilled to announce an expanded two-car attack!

Spotlight on the #227 Crew

We are incredibly excited to welcome Cameron McLeod to the team. A third-generation racer and a standout in Super2, Cameron is currently one of Australia’s official Ford junior development drivers. His technical feedback and raw pace will be invaluable as he pairs with the fast-rising Mason Harvey.

Media Day Highlights

At the recent official media day, all four drivers were separated by only hundredths of a second, proving the Multispares Mustangs will be at the pointy end of the field. With Aaron and Lochie bringing established pedigree and the duo of Cameron and Mason representing the next generation of Ford talent, we are looking forward to a massive season.
