Ready-made trucks fitted with bodies so that they can go out to work straight away is becoming *all the rage* for truck manufacturers in Australia. There is nothing better than buying a truck straight from a dealership that is ready to work. Over the years this *trend* has become the norm, with more and more trucks prepared for sale – already fitted with a flat top, tipper or even a pan body.
This trend started nearly 20 years ago – thanks to Isuzu – with it’s Trade Pack brand of ready to go N Series models, today Fuso and Hino have followed this trend offering some imported tipper bodies. Australians were getting fed up with the waiting time for a truck body. After realising this demand, truck manufactures at the lower end of the mass scale elected to offer ready-made products. Even those in the heavy specialist range have got in on the act, selling hook lift and curtain slider rigid trucks.
Fuso has recently announced they are introducing the most comprehensive ready-made range of its kind. This range by Fuso includes eight different models that can be purchased with bodies already fitted, to save customers long wait times. It will also supply a range of high-quality aftermarket Fuso parts. Ready-built models include trays, fridge trucks, centre tippers and Pantech’s, as well as some larger tautliners and fighter tippers.
Fuso’s goal is to make it easier for customers to do business, designing a ready built range that has a lot of applications. Fuso knows their customers would rather be out there on the job, not waiting for the body to be built up. Ready-built tippers are sourced from Japan, while all other ready-built bodies have been made in Australia.
The new range includes two Canter tippers a 715 wide cab (6.5 tonne GVM) and a city model the 515 that comes with a standard cab (6 tonne GVM). There is also a medium duty tipper available, with a GVM of 11 tonnes. When it comes to the Canter Tray models there is the 515 Wide Cab and the 515 City Cab, both with drop sides, heavy duty floor and alloy trays.
For delivery the Canter 515 wide cab Pantech model is available with a fibreglass gloss reinforced panel or lighter honeycomb fibreglass construction. These trucks also feature an interior LED light, sturdy checker plate floor and a Dhollandia tuck-away lift.
A fighter tautliner model comes with a choice of 10, 12 or 14 pallet bodies with lift out hanging gates, white curtains with a black pelmet and a checker plate floor. The Canter 515 City Cab Model with a Thermo King Fridge, styrene sandwich panel construction, a non-slip fibreglass-on-ply floor and a kerb-side door with fold down step that can be used for refrigerated or frozen cargo is also part of the ready-built range.
