Ryan Hansford and his Multispares SLR5000 Torana have had their best result so far in Touring Car Masters grabbing the Pro Am class win and finishing 2nd to Steve Johnson overall at Winton Raceway for round 3 of the 2018 series.
Last year, Winton was only the 2nd round for Ryan and the team in the Torana but this year they returned having learnt what gearbox and diff ratios they need for the tight and twisty layout. Once again the Friday practice was wet and once again Ryan was fast just getting pipped by Johnson on the last lap as the …
After round 2 of the 2018 Touring car masters series at Symmons Plains in Tasmania, Ryan Hansford and his Multispares Torana is 2nd in class and 5th overall in the points.
It was a case of the “good, bad and the ugly” in Tasmania with a weekend that showed a glimpse of Ryan’s brilliant driving in tricky conditions, Adelaide street circuit kerbs striking again and just plain bad luck when a brand new set of plug leads had a failure sitting on the grid for the final race.
In qualifying on Friday John Bowe and Steve Johnson set the early pace with …

The Multispares Torana has started the year with a mixed bag of results in Adelaide, March 1st – 4th in front of over 275,000 fans.
Ryan Hansford started the weekend strongly in both practice and qualifying and was 4th on the grid behind Steve Johnson, Gavin Bullas and John Bowe.
In 2018 the first race of the weekend will be the reverse grid race, but the great news is there is still three races to follow, so an extra race at each round. Ryan started from 16th and raced hard picking off 10 cars and keeping Johnson, Bullas and Bowe behind him.
Ryan Hansford in his Peters Motorsport prepared Multispares Torana has finished 2nd in the Pro Am class and 4th overall in his debut season of Touring Car Masters.
Around the tight and tricky street circuit in Newcastle Ryan got the weekend underway with blistering pace, quickest in both practice sessions before putting in one of his best laps of the year to take his first pole position.
“All season the team and I have been turning up to the tracks not knowing the right ratio to put in but this time around it was a level playing field so everyone was guessing. …
Ryan Hansford and his Multispares Torana will hit the track around the streets of Newcastle this Friday for the final round of the 2017 Touring Car Masters series. (TCM)
It has been a brilliant first season in TCM for the Multispares racing team.
With uncertainty regarding the direction of Ute racing in Australia after 3 seasons in V8 Utes, it was decided in February to change direction. TCM is very popular; the cars are classic and the fit felt right for the team, Multispares and its customers.
Peters Motorsport quickly scoured the country and purchased the ex Carey McMahon SLR5000 which had …
Ryan Hansford and the Multispares Torana head to Melbourne’s Sandown Raceway next weekend for round 5 of the 2017 Touring Car Masters series.
Round 4 was held at Queensland Raceway in late July with Ryan finishing the weekend in an epic battle for a race win with Eddie Abelnica in a round that produced some of the best close racing so far this season.
Like Queensland Raceway, Sandown should provide terrific racing with the Ford Falcon of Abelnica and the Mustang of Steve Johnson having the legs down the straights but the Torana’s of Hansford, Bowe and Gomersell having the handling …
Multispares Racing and Ryan Hansford head to Queensland Raceway in 10 days’ time for round 4 of the 2017 Touring Car Masters series (TCM).
The Peters Motorsport team who look after the mighty Multispares Torana are based in Redcliffe north of Brisbane, just an hour’s drive from Queensland Raceway (QR) where they do all their testing.
With a hectic schedule running cars in both the TCM and V8 Utes this year, the team have given the Torana the once over and will test the 5.0L SLR 5000 this week to ensure the steering pump and steering rack have been correctly rebuilt …
After a successful round 2 of the Touring Car Master’s series at Winton Raceway recently, Ryan Hansford and the Multispares have moved to second in the Pro Am series points.
After making the Torana more comfortable for Ryan to drive he came out blazingly fast in the wet practice sessions on the Friday some 1.8 secs faster than second placed Steve Johnson. Ryan’s smooth driving style combined with the set-up of the Torana with its new wet tyres meant he was in total control of the 600+bhp SLR5000.
After the drenching on Friday the teams had a dry track for qualifying and …
